This revolutionary 'Cool Heat' blanket has a unique contruction that allows the horse to regulate it's own body temperature using its natural thermo-regulation process.
There is a good explanation of this on the Macs Equine web site so have a look if you would like to get all the facts.
The Cool Heat Blanket also has a generous tail flap, soft nylon leg straps and crossover surcingles.
If your horse has to wear a blanket and you are away when the day warms up, the horse will be far more comfortable in a Cool Heat blanket than any other.
This blanket is suprisingly light too - it's 600 denier ripstop waterproof material is seamless, is breathable and, it looks great - just like other top of the range rugs.

This revolutionary 'Cool Heat' blanket has a unique construction that allows the horse to regulate it's own body temperature using it's natural thermo-regulation process. The 'rubber insulators' on the underside of the blanket allow the horse's hair to stand up, trapping air to warm up, or lay down to cool itself.

The Cool Heat Blanket also has a generous tail flap, soft nylon leg straps and cross-over surcingles. If your horse has to wear a blanket and you are away when the day warms up unexpectedly, the horse will be far more comfortable in a Cool Heat blanket than any other. It is not recommended to leave this (or any warm blanket) on above 20c/65F, or for long periods of time to eliminate any chance of damaging your horse from heat stress or pressure. Removing the blanket during the day allows your horse more comfort and to retain the ability to grow a winter coat. Think of this blanket as a portable horse shelter for those very wet, cold, windy days only.

This blanket is light but tough - it's 600 denier ripstop waterproof material is seamless, breathable and, it looks great - just like other top of the range rugs.

The Coolheat fits beautifully around the neck and shoulder, allowing comfortable grazing.

The shoulder darts are placed further forward where they are totally effective in allowing movement without rubbing.

A high cut neck eliminates pull on the wither and the rubber insulators sit well clear of the backbone.

The rubber insulators that keep the fabric off the body, enable the horse to dry off when wet or stay dry if the blanket ever gets saturated in long periods of heavy rain (usually when they are a few years old or have been washed a lot).

The Cool-Heat Blanket (01:40)
Royal Horse CompanyNatural Horse Care Productshttp://www.royalhorsecompany.comMac Equine's revolutionary "Cool Heat" horse blanket has an insulating system which allows the horse to regulate it's own temperature by using it's natural thermo regulation process. So before you go shopping for your next blanket, explore the advantages of the "Cool Heat"Pilo-Erection (raising and lowering of the hair) is one of the processes a horse uses to control Thermal Regulation (warming and cooling of the body). Long term blanketing leads to the destruction of a horse's Pilo-Erection ability. This is because small muscle fibers attached to each hair follicle become inactive due to constant flattening and atrophy occurs (muscle weakening) and a horse can no longer raise its hairs to retain body heat. The horse then becomes dependent on permanent blanketing. To purchase or find out more about this wonderful natural blanket, visit us @ www.royalhorsecompany.com

  1. Very Impressed

Posted by Laurel Gordon on 8th Mar 2011

I am very impressed with how the Cool Heat blankets work. The action of the rugs is "great". As with any new product I was not sure how effective they would be and if they would do everything the manufacturer said they would do but I am now very convinced and glad I took the punt buying blankets for both my horses and just want to pass my comments onto you. I've put them on wet during a storm, and Jedda went from shivering to warm in 5 minutes, I could feel the layer of trapped warm air between her and the rug, but when I checked a few hours later she was dry, the rug was dry, but she wasn't clammy or overhot. I use them only when it's wet _and_ windy _and_ cold, and because their coats have stayed effective they're perfectly ok unrugged if it's only cold, they are for me a good 'shed substitute'. Jedda found the rug a bit scary at first, I think the bumps bothered her, but she is hypersensitive let's face it, and she's fine with it now, Belle took it in her stride from the start.

  2. Thrilled with the Fit

Posted by Kristy Matheson on 8th Mar 2011

I purchased a Cool Heat blanket and thought i would let you know what i think. I am absolutely thrilled with the fit of the rug, i especially like the way it sits above the wither and along the spine, therefore not putting pressure on the wither etc. Even after rolling and running around the rug stays in place, and doesnt tighten up in the front like others i have tried do. I also found the rug to be really smart looking, and good quality also. I think the concept is a really great one, i love to keep my horse as natural as possible even though the weather is quite extreme in winter where i live, so this rug suits me down to the ground . I have noticed that even when it was snowing my horse stayed comfortable, and didnt feel cold under the rug. One more thing, the velcro on the front being horizontal instead of vertical ( like all other rugs) is much better as it doesn't pull apart as it normally does. Thanks for a great product, i love it!!!!

  3. Amazing Rug

Posted by Suz. B. TAS. on 12th Jul 2010

Just wanted to let you that this cool heat rug is absolutely amazing, Kate sweats so bad with a normal rug she gets a lather, put this one on last night & took off this morning at 9am she was dry, it is bloody brilliant!!!!! :)

  4. Impressed with how well they work.

Posted by Connie B. - dressage judge & instructor, NSW. on 9th Jul 2010

Last year I discovered the Cool Heat rugs - I bought one for each of my horses and I am impressed with how well they work.
Even my horse that feels 'hot' all the time doesn't mind the rug whereas he has destroyed several very well made (and really expensive) rugs!
And the old mare is also very happy in hers.

  5. Comfy happy horse

Posted by Sue L. - Westbury, TAS. on 9th Jul 2010

Nick's rug fits him perfectly, thankyou for getting it to me so quickly.
I put the rug on Nick one night when he was yarded and the weather was a bit unsettled and the next morning it had warmed up very quickly.

Nick was nice and comfortable not sweaty like he normally would be and he has stopped walking away when he sees me coming with his rug!
