This new style of chinstrap will be phased in as bridle stock is replaced.
If you are using a LightRider bridle on multiple horses, we recommend replacing the buckled chinstrap with the new style.
Unique Chinstrap: The purpose of the soft webbing chin strap is to help the noseband stay in place when pressure is applied to the reins - this stops the noseband from twisting to give clear and direct communication.
When rein pressure is applied the chinstrap becomes snug but does not over-tighten due to the type of webbing used and way it wraps around the noseband ring, so all of the pressure is on top of the nose.
It is easy to shorten a chinstrap if you find its too long - click here for detailed instructions and pictures showing the best way to do this.
